The Athens Metro is a rapid transit system in Athens, Greece, which opened in 2000. It currently consists of 3 lines: Line 1 (Green), Line 2 (Red), and Line 3 (Blue). Line 1 dates back to 1869 and is one of the oldest metro lines in Europe. The entire system is operated by Athens Urban Transport Organization (STASY).
